Dear JMSA Members and friends,

We are very saddened to report passing of our honorary JMSA member, Dr. Robert G. Newman on 8/1.  As the CEO of Continuum Health, he established the Japanese Medical Practice in 1990, partnering with Tokyo Marine Insurance Company.  NY Times reported “Japanese Style Health Care for Patients Far from Home.” He also established N-program to bring nearly 200 outstanding medical residents to date from Japan to further their training in US and many of them hold leadership positions in US and Japan.

Dr. Newman was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays in 2014.  He was always humble and polite yet captivating with his intelligence and inquisitive mind. He will be truly missed.  We will continue his legacy to promote exchange of US-Japan medical exchange.
